Because Three Gulls is on a gulf-front, corner lot, with deck and     open-concept living spaces on the second floor, staying here means you have front row seats to watch the sun, tides, breeze and storms change – hour by hour – the clouds in the sky and the colors of the water.  Walk outside and you become an instant participant in nature with sea gulls, pelicans, egrets, shells, and dolphins for playmates. No reason to pack bags for a day at the beach. With a house this close, you dash back and forth through out the day to get an extra sand bucket or sweatshirt. My parents built this wonderful house in 1975 with family and especially children in mind. They watched my sisters and I, and then their grandchildren, explore this beach. I watched my children grow up here. Now, I share it with renters who, like me, enjoy the old Florida tradition of casual vacations with a panoramic view of the wonders of coastal living. 

The three upstairs bedrooms are very generously sized. The kitchen, dining area and living room all have splendid Gulf views. The two downstairs bedrooms have access to a separate living/dining area which opens to an outside patio. All bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The kitchen is newly renovated (2025), and is now well organized and fully stocked to accommodate a big family, with a large fridge and a second fridge in the garage. The house lives well. There is plenty of room to share a meal, watch TV or play games together. But there is also room to quietly read a book, or get a little work done. 

Three Gulls is full of charm and history, space and comfort. And it has view that, after 70 years of coming here, still takes my breath away. 

About Anna Maria Island

Three Gulls is in the city of Anna Maria, which is at the northern most point of the island of Anna Maria. Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach are to our south. All are connected by a free trolly system that runs the 7 miles of Anna Maria Island, letting you explore these three, very unique coastal cities.  If you don’t feel like driving to the mainland, there is a water ferry that connects the island to Bradenton.  The city of Anna Maria is a walkable, bikeable throwback to the way things use to be – and Three Gulls provides easy access to all the fun. There are a variety of restaurants, retail shops, bate shops and rental shops. You can find grocery, pharmacy and hardware shops – along with more retail and restaurants – three miles away in Holmes Beach. If you feel guilty after indulging in all the delicious food, the island’s 7 mile beach runs continuously along the Gulf – perfect for a morning jog, calisthenics or yoga. The Anna Maria Community Center (an easy bike ride) offers day, week and month passes to their weight rooms, fitness classes, basketball, tennis, horse shoe and pickleball courts. The much larger cities of Bradenton, Sarasota, Tampa and St. Petersburg are an easy drive over the causeway, but really, everything you need is right here on Anna Maria Island.
